Gotland’s Cykeluthyrning (GCU) started in the 1970s and was one of the leading figures in the cycle-tourist boom in Sweden where everyone suddenly went on biking holidays and mainly to “cycle on Gotland”.
A phenomenon that later gained traction from the Swedish author Ulf Lundell’s book and subsequent hit film “Jack”, which takes place on Gotland.
Since 2006, GCU has been run by Björn Wallenström and Jacob Harlevi who, after a number of seasons as summer workers, decided to take over the company. With two cemented keywords: Service & Quality, the company has today grown into one of the largest bicycle rental companies in Sweden.
GCU currently has close to 900 bicycles in the park distributed among around 20 different models. Bicycles and accessories always come from recognized brands with recognized high quality.

WE ARE LOCATED ONLY 400 METER FROM THE FERRY TERMINAL IN THE MIDDLE OF VISBY GUEST HARBOUR
From the ferry, walk north about 400 meters in the direction of the marina and Visby city center. We are located on the right side of the road, just after the old prison (now a hostel).

We at GCU place great value in making environmentally conscious choices in all parts of our organization.
In addition to having perhaps the most environmentally friendly product as our main task,
we also make sure that all transport is done with biogas trucks and that all
service products that are used are non-polluting.
